Niki Novak, LMFT, LPC

Jennifer “Niki” Novak, LMFT, LPC, is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor in Washington DC. Niki is the practice owner of Counseling & Consulting on the Hill where she provides psychotherapy (individual, couples, and sex therapy) and clinical supervision. Additionally, Niki contracts with various agencies to provide training and consultation for the purpose of staff professional development and to promote innovation and excellence in client care services through the use of best practices.

Niki has experience treating a wide range of psychological concerns and is passionate about supporting people in various stages of their lives. Using a feminist therapy orientation, Niki specializes in women’s health issues including maternal mental health. For the past 12 years, Niki has worked in DC in a variety of capacities including clinician, leader, and trainer in community mental health and private practice. Her unique experiences have allowed her to develop into a flexible and creative practitioner who blends theoretical training in Marriage and Family Therapy into everyday practice. Niki uses an integrated approach including harm-reduction, motivational interviewing, CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed practices.

Niki graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a master's degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Marriage in Family therapy, and from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Niki is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and has a Clinical Fellow membership. She previously served as a commissioner, appointed by Mayor Muriel Bowser, on the DC Department of Health and Licensing Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
