Caryn Crotty, LMFT

Caryn Crotty, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Washington DC. She provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples and teenagers. Caryn works to cultivate a safe space for clients to heal and to overcome challenges that arise throughout life.  

Caryn uses an integrative approach that ties in her systemic lens to help clients understand the impact of their environment and experiences. She works to be collaborative with clients and incorporates techniques and concepts from dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and trauma–informed practices. When working with couples, Caryn is guided by training in emotionally focused couples therapy and research from the Gottmans. She supports clients through changes that will bring more self-compassion and connection into their lives, and ultimately use clients’ strengths to help them reach their goals.

Caryn completed her undergraduate degree in Human Development, BS and a masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy, MS from Virginia Tech. She has previously worked in Emergency services at the Community Service Board and taught stress management seminars to couples.
